STEP ONE:
Your Resume
Your resume should reflect any experience and coursework you have completed that demonstrates your qualifications. When drafting your resume, be sure to highlight any qualifications that align with 3Degrees and the departments you are interested in. When presenting work experience and coursework, be sure to include the following:
- Name of company, dates of employment, job title, or role type
- Describe the scope of work and primary responsibilities of the role
- Tell us about the team you were on: size and primary function of the team
- List school-related projects or coursework that demonstrates relevant skills and knowledge
- Highlight any projects that align with our mission to address climate change or related to sustainability
- Share leadership roles at school, part-time jobs, or organizations where you have volunteered
- List any special skills you have such as video, photography, research, website editing/design, graphic design, writing, software development, excel mastery, etc.
- Be comprehensive, but concise. One page is ideal
STEP TWO:
Your Cover Letter
A cover letter is a great opportunity to help us learn more about you. Let your resume tell us what you have done and use the cover letter to share "who you are". Include relevant accomplishments in your cover letter, and describe how your accomplishments might help you contribute to our mission. We encourage you to let your personality shine through as you tell us the following:
- How did you learn about 3Degrees? Why are you interested in joining our internship program?
- Which category are you most interested in joining and why? If you are not sure (most people fall in this category), that's okay! Let us know what you hope to learn during your time with us.
- What are you passionate about and why?
Special Instructions
1. At the top of your cover letter (header) - Tell us your first and last dates you are available for the Summer Session. The ideal internship experience is 12 weeks and trust us, the time will fly. But, if your schedule precludes you from spending 12 weeks with us, let us know you are availability. We may consider a shorter internship for highly qualified students, but the duration must be no less than a 10-week period of time, beginning June 12, 2023.
2. After your signature line in your cover letter, share a favorite quote.
STEP THREE:
Submitting Your Application - NO DEADLINE
While we've removed the deadline from our process, we want you to submit your applications ASAP, as applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all Internship positions are filled.
- Gather Docs - Best to save all files in PDF file format to retain formatting.
- Answer Application Questions - After you upload your resume, be sure to answer all application questions and prompts as well as include your signature before submitting your application.
